Description
Krishna is a Hindu deity. He is one of the incarnation of Vedic Supreme God Vishnu or Narayana. He is the son of Devaki (Mother) and Vasudeva (Father). Lord Vishnu is the protector of this world and hence his incarnation as Krishna was meant to eradicate the evil forces, to restore the ‘Dharma’ and to liberate the people from their sufferings. In Hindu mythology Lord Krishna has been described as a role model in his various stages of life right from his birth. As an infant he was very naughty yet loving and fond of eating fresh butter. As a young boy he played flute and was very popular among boys and girls of his age. He used to play pranks with his friends. As a youthful prince he was a model lover, an enchanter of women. Lord Krishna has many names that highlight his attributes. Common ones are – Gopala – Protector of Cows, Murlidhar – The one who keeps a flute, Krishna – One who is ‘dark’ refers to color of his skin.
